She was born on 15 september in 1967. She has over 200 films over five languages Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
She had initial training in Bharathanatiyam., Kuchipudi dance forms and had given many stage performances. She started her acting career at the age of 13. She first played the role in vellai mansu in Tamil opposite Y.G. Mahendra. She was studying 8th standard when she start her carrer. She got a filmfare award padayapa in the year 1999.
